What Would Happen If Dinosaurs Never Went Extinct!

What would the world be like if dinosaurs never became extinct? Dinosaurs were the largest creatures to rule our earth, some of whose species used to grow up to 120 feet tall. But about 66 million years ago, a giant asteroid about 15 kilometers across hit our Earth, which wiped out almost all species of dinosaurs. You must have heard and seen all this about dinosaurs in many videos. Today we will try to know the answers to some interesting and hypothetical questions related to dinosaurs.

The Dinosaur Era

About 245 to 66 million years ago, there was a period when giant dinosaurs used to rule our earth. This era is mainly divided into the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, during which different species of dinosaurs existed.

This mass extinction is also known as the Great Dying, which is considered to be the most terrible mass extinction in the history of our planet. During this time, life on our planet had almost come to an end. Among the creatures that survived after this mass extinction, there was also a species of creature called dinosauromorphs. These were cat-sized reptiles that could run at very high speeds.

Dinosauromorphs are considered to be the ancestors of Dinosaurs, who took the form of True Dinosaurs about 230 million years ago, which later evolved into sauropods and other carnivorous dinosaurs.

The biggest dinosaurs

In the discoveries made so far, scientists have discovered giant dinosaur species like Barosaurus and Argentinosaurus, which used to be 30 to 40 meters tall and used to weigh up to 100 tons.

But the thing to think about is that during the last 500 million years of our earth's history, this was the only period when such giant creatures ruled our earth. During the second Ordovician, Devonian, Permian, and present periods, such giant creatures never existed on our earth.

The biggest question facing scientists even today is: what was special about our Earth at that time, due to which dinosaurs became so huge? Over the course of many years, scientists from all over the world conducted research to find the answer to this question.

1. High oxygen
Initially, scientists believed that at that time there was more oxygen present in our atmosphere than today, due to which the organisms present at that time became so huge.

2. Low Gravity
Some scientists thought that at that time the gravity on our earth would have been less than today, due to which the creatures present at that time would have become so huge. But with time, these theories proved wrong and were rejected by scientists.

3. Nutrient Vegetation But recent research has shown that at that time there was 2 to 3 times more carbon dioxide present in our atmosphere than today, due to which the average temperature at that time was around 30 degrees Celsius. Due to this, more species of trees and plants were present at that time.

In such a situation, there was more nutrient-rich vegetation available to eat for sauropod dinosaurs, which eat trees and plants. Besides, this giant also used to come and protect them from hunters, due to which they gradually became so huge in size.

Some scientists believed that the sauropods that existed at that time were giant dinosaur species that ate plants and trees. His body had evolved in such a way that he was able to process maximum oxygen, due to which he became so giant during millions of years of evolution.

Now that they had become so giant, the species that hunted them also became giant during many years of evolution. Well, all these are just theories, and scientists have not yet found the exact answer to this question.

What if Dinosaurs Didn't Extinct?

If dinosaurs had not ended due to mass extinction, then is there any possibility that, due to millions of years of evolution, we would have been able to become as intelligent as humans and create modern societies? In such a situation, scientists say that when dinosaurs came to an end, their evolution was still going on.

Among all the species of dinosaurs, some species of raptors, like the Velociraptor, were the most intelligent of all the species existing at that time. Velociraptor not only had the largest brain, but its senses were also much sharper than those of other creatures.

You must have seen some glimpses of this in the famous film Jurassic World, where Velociraptor is trained by humans, and they obey their instructor and follow his orders.

According to scientists, the things shown in the film are not wrong, but Velociraptor used to be as smart and intelligent as today's cats and dogs. And if dinosaurs had not ended, they would have continued to evolve in the same manner. So it is possible that he would have developed an even bigger brain and more senses.

And during millions of years of evolution, they would have followed the path of primates like humans, where they would have learned to develop tools, would have been able to communicate with each other, and at the same time would have created societies like us.

Although there are many ifs and buts present in it, if we look at it theoretically, then it is true that if dinosaurs had not died, then after millions of years of evolution, it is possible that they would have become an intelligent species like us humans.

If the Sauropod dinosaurs, who ruled the earth 66 million years ago, had not come to an end, could these creatures have become even more giant? On this, scientists say that it is possible that it is clear from the research done so far that Sauropod dinosaurs did not become so huge due to neither more oxygen nor less gravity.

They got this size on the basis of their biology and millions of years of evolution. In such a situation, according to scientists, when the Sauropod dinosaurs came to an end, they were probably at the peak of their evolution. That is, by that time, his body had evolved as much as it could have evolved, and at that time, his body was a perfect combination of his size and his food.

And if he were more giant than this, then it is possible that he would neither be able to walk nor breathe, nor would he be able to keep his body standing. That is, in simple language, it is clear from the research done so far that Sauropod dinosaurs were at the peak of their size at the time of Extinction, and it was not possible for them to become more giant than this.

Can we regenerate dinosaurs?

Can we bring dinosaurs back to life using existing technology or not? On this, scientists say that to revive any dead organism, we will first need its DNA sequence. During the research, scientists found some blood-sucking insects in a frozen state, which might have sucked the blood of dinosaurs millions of years ago and then, for some reason, became frozen.

In such a situation, even today, the blood of dinosaurs may be present inside them, after which some speculations were being made that through this blood, scientists could revive the dinosaurs by finding out their DNA sequence.

But this is an incomplete truth. Like everything present in our world, DNA also has an expiration date, after which it starts to degrade. The DNA of the dinosaur found inside the mosquito was already degraded millions of years ago.

Summary and FAQ

In such a situation, we are not even close to being able to recover the DNA of dinosaurs, and there is very little possibility that their DNA will still be preserved in some form on our planet. In such a situation, if put in simple language, all the talk about bringing dinosaurs back into existence in films is only science fiction. And it is impossible to revive dinosaurs using current technology or future technology. Here are some questions that could arise in your mind:

1. Would humans be alive if dinosaurs didn't go extinct?

Humans wouldn't exist if dinosaurs didn't go extinct, as dinosaurs would also evolve with time.

2. Is it possible that dinosaurs aren't extinct?

Dinosaurs weren't completely extinct, as all the insects are the descendants of these dinosaurs.

3. Could dinosaurs evolve again?

The answer is actually no; dinosaurs can't evolve again naturally, and it is almost impossible to create them in a laboratory.
